At our Annual Gala Dinner, MIDAS Ireland was delighted to honour Ciaran Connell with an Industry Outstanding Achievement award.
A UCD graduate of electronic engineering in the early 80’s, Ciaran worked for 25 years in a number of blue chip companies such as Cornel Electronics, Motorola and Freescale. Then in 2007, he took the leap into the entrepreneurial world founding Decawave with fellow UCD Alumni Michael Mclaughlin.
As CEO, he successfully grew and drove Decawave until it was acquired by Qorvo for €400m in 2020. Ciaran was responsible for the overall success of DecaWave by creating, planning, implementing, and integrating the strategic direction. Ciaran remains very active in the industry where he supports start ups.
