Equipment Database

MIDAS database of equipment resources:

The MIDAS database of equipment resources shows key items of equipment that reside in various academic and research organisations in Ireland, which resources facilitate electrical measurement of electronic circuits and systems. This database relies on information supplied by each organisation. Companies in a 'start-up' phase have highlighted the importance of increased visibility of such equipment resources. At present the cost of accessing such equipment depends on the charging structure of the organization providing access. MIDAS sees access to such equipment as a key enabler of the innovation taking place in 'start-up' companies. It is envisaged that the EI innovation voucher scheme may be applicable to funding such 'equipment access' when it facilitates product innovation. It is the view of MIDAS that "there should be no economic barrier to good innovation".
